His Holiness, the Jagadguru Sri Sri Bharathitheertha Mahaswamigal who adorns the throne of transcendental wisdom as the 36th Pontiff of Dakshinamnaya Sri Sarada Peetham, Sringeri mutt is our present patron.<br /> His Holiness is known for His great spiritual eminence, and is considered as one of the best traditional scholars of the time. As a jnani par excellence, He can come down to the level of the common man and lucidly explain the intricacies of Sastras and the essentials of Vedanta. He is equally well known for living all alone, the life of meditation, revelling himself in a transcendental state.<br /> The history of Sri Sringeri Sarada Peetham starts from 820 AD from the time of Sri Adi Sankara Bhagavath Pada. Since then the Peetham is adorned and served by 35 Pontiffs in the past 12 centuries. They have all done dedicated service in propagating the Advaita philosophy and the values of Sanadhana Dharma.

OBJECTIVES
- To help future prospective teachers to develop competence to teach subjects of their specialization on the basis of adequate theories of learning and a sound knowledge of the subject.<br /> - Complete personality development through regular seminars and workshops.<br /> - To identify and develop the creative abilities and innate potentialities of student teachers.<br /> - To develop skills involved in selecting, developing and using evaluation tools.<br /> - To develop an appreciation of the role of the teacher in the prevailing socio-cultural and political in general and educational system in particular.<br /> - To organize programmes focusing on community upliftment and national development.
LOCATION
Adi Sankara Training College is situated in Kalady in the Rural belt of Ernakulam District. The catchment area of the institution stretches across seven Grama Panchayats. The college is located in a beautiful, quiet, and enchanting environment, away from the madding crowds of the city. The College is situated about 2 kilometers north of Kalady and one kilometer from Mattoor Junction en route Perumbavoor- Angamaly- M.C road. Angamaly is the nearest Railway Station at a distance of seven kilometers from the college. The International airport Cochi at Nedumbassery is at a distance of 5 kilometers from the college.
